Hello. I'm still alive, I'm still here. I know I haven't posted in ages.... I don't know why? Just not been to interested, preoccupied with, well, Minecraft! Too many hours, evenings, days, weekends lost to it.

It's not all been Minecraft. Had my 30th back in July, celebrated with a Midnight Chateau camping mission to the coast and early August we headed to Somerset for some Glamping Yurt ACTION! see previous post.

And as for the ongoing projects, well, as usual. Picking each one up here and there, while continually scribbling in the sketchbook..

Anyway, signing off. I'll keep you peeps posted (a bit more regularly). And for now, Take it easy :D

New Project - Cardboard Combat

So, my love of papercraft and war-gaming have collided, CARDBOARD COMBAT is here.

I started to think about a simple to play, table-top combat game a few months ago with the intention of using a WW2 theme. Straight away the craft knife and cutting mat was out, mocking up paper tanks and soldiers without a worry for the game play. With the first of the designs looking bulky, the project was set aside while other interests took over..

..until a few weeks ago. Game play took over, quickly mocking up a collection of printed slips of paper for units, two armies were created and combat was under way.

Game play is a turn based, move and shoot. Combat is resolved with a simple roll to hit, roll to save system consistent with the different type of combat (ranged and close combat).

What was intended to be relatively small combat area, with the implementation of re-designed 3D playing pieces, the whole table was quickly cleared for the ensuing battles.

Infantry and Armour units, Command and Comms Bunkers, Sandbag defences and Ruined Buildings all crafted from (roughly) eight sheets of A4 paper and a bit of glue.

Unfortunatley, the battery on the camera died so was unable to get shots of some of the earlier vesions of the units. I'll get em posted next time.

Norwich 501st and Bossk

Castle Mall, Norwich. Not the place you'd expect to find a Trandoshan Bounty Hunter, let alone the best one in the galaxy! But there he was, Mr Alan Harris... who... Bossk! That's who.

With the 501st loitering around, there was all manner of Stormtrooopers, Astromech Droids and other galactic heroes strolling about the place. The poster also promised Kenny Baker too but I didn't see him (maybe he was in character...)

Mr Harris was a super nice chap but he did keep my pen.

Where has the time gone?

So, the end of September is already here. Ploughing through this year, what happened to the summer? Anyways, as ever I report of doing fuck all with my own time, and therefore have fuck all to show for it! As ever, I am disappointed...

...but...

...well, fuck it! I'll finish stuff off when i get around to it! :) So what is new? Went to Silverstone back in July, watched the F1 which was the best weekend ever! Had a great time, although the sun on the Friday was sooo hot. The red of the Virgin Racing cars is the most mesmerising red ever! TV coverage and images really don't do it justice. Ham made it to the podium which was good enough for me (may not be for the championship after this weekend's performance).

In August, we headed down to Cornwall for a week. The weather was on and off but still a great week, even got in the sea! Also had a crafty camping mission over bank holiday weekend, which was dry most of the time and probably the last time I'll venture into the sea this year.

Since then it has mainly been the F1 that has kept me busy, and disappointed. Work wise, I have been roughing the odd image and that's about it. Will keep you posted on what happens next...

Hey there guys...

So we are well into 2010 and i'm still in the same old boat - too many ideas, nothing completed! There has been no exhibition as yet, no new artwork. Just me with ideas.

Things need to change! Things need to be completed. So, time for a fresh start. My new concern with my artwork and creativity is to follow ideas through to the end, then post them on here! Hopefully, this will lead to an exhibition sometime in the summer and so on so watch this space!

Here's the latest update on the poster. Worked on Cherry, not too much left to do there. Worked the sea and took it over to the Dew and Jem. Then tried some colour in the background (rough) and played around with some stars. Hopefully, we'll have the finished poster up here soon. ;)

So, I found the 'Necromunda' rulebook on the Games Workshop website. Great! Following this I got some new model paints and set about painting. Yes, geeky I know! Following that I wanted to have a crack at some terrain. See below.
